Addressing the food crisis in developing countries requires an innovative approach, engaging both the private and the public sectors. Walmart, Mars and the Hewlett Foundation come together with international development food security experts in this exciting event that highlights efforts to connect farmers and traders to local and global markets. We’ll feature an enterprising genome mapping technology, collaborative efforts to build capacity around the African trade corridors, and exploring opportunities in SMS and other mobile technology to ensure that vital crop information reaches more people than ever before. We will also show a documentary film produced by SAIS alum Steve Dorst.
